Berliner Großstadtpflanze, die ab und an mal in die Natur muss :)
With normal bikes, the short tour was a challenge. Mountain bikes or a hike are more suitable here.
Once at the top, a great large area that was created by the melting of the last ice age. This is how the boulders came here and can now be discovered along the 'Path of the Sleeping Stones'. We used the area and the wind to fly a kite. On the observation tower you have a beautiful view over the terminal moraine and towards the lake.

Today we always went along the dike to the NABU water bird reserve. Due to the lake lowlands and the NSG Westmarkelsdorfer Huk, the route was very varied. The reserve and the information center are very beautiful and informative. There are water birds and amphibians to watch - they educate a lot about environmental protection. There are also some hands-on stations for children and the young at heart :)
Since we wanted to go into the water again because of the heat, we drove back the same way.

In a permanent duel with the strong headwind / crosswind, but fantastic sunshine, we (with the aim of shopping) explored a little bit the Inswl. Past the nature reserve 'Grüner Brink', we first went to the ferry port in Puttgarden. There we could see Denmark 20km away on the horizon. From Puttgarden we lead straight to Burg. A lively little place, where we went to eat delicious cakes and strolled around a bit. Back it went (again against the wind) through the interior of the island past beautiful small villages and many fields.
The cycle path system on Fehmarn is well signposted. The paths leave something to be desired from time to time. Lots of gravel that wrapped the bike and the feet in a layer of dust that the mechanics of the bike didn't do that well.

Since my car had to go to the doctor today, I took the opportunity to take a few steps through a part of Berlin that is very foreign to me (since the tourist center). On the short two and a half kilometers from the workshop to the subway, there were many (sometimes tragic-comic) contrasts of this historically moving city. There people come to important places of the terrible Nazi, war and post-war period and 200m further a work of art is emblazoned over Pimmel .... Yes, that is Berlin .... Architecturally, the whole range of old buildings, Hitler buildings, is shown , Buildings from the 1960s to the "pretty" glass / concrete buildings of today.
In between there was a breakfast in the nicely furnished bakery. I ended my route at the U-Bhf (with a very questionable name !!) Mohrenstrasse.

Today it was floating on the water (literally). Canadians borrowed and set off.
Schooner weir and along the Krakauer Havel, we had to carry the canoe over the Mühlendamm. We continued through the sewing winch into the Beetzsee. We turned at the regatta course and drove through the Brandenburg Niederhavel through the city center. After the Luckenberger bridge we went left into the city canal, in which we then had to go through the city lock (I have never been alone in a lock). The city canal led us back to the Krakow Havel. On the entire route we saw gray herons and wild geese again and again (unfortunately no forest pugs in the water :-)) in the city and on the Beetzsee there was unfortunately a lot of motor boat traffic, but it was all the more quiet in the city canal.
A nice tour with a lot to discover. I could have taken a lot more pictures, but I was in charge of the steering in the boat 😉

Small weekend trip to Brandenburg an der Havel.
After arrival, first looking for food, i.e. towards the old town and of course to the water. We ended up in the restaurant "Werft" (yes, it used to be a large shipyard). Sitting by the water we ate delicious food and watched the hustle and bustle of yachts, motor boats, canoes and many SUPs.
On the way there was the cathedral, beautiful old half-timbered houses, a lot of water and the 'Lost Place' city pool (unfortunately you could only go through a crack in the entrance area). The most important thing for Loriot fans is of course to discover the pugs in the city. During our short tour we were only able to find 5 out of 20 😊(Then I have to transplant the pictures back to the right places at home, because the GPS is not correct. I recapitulated the route afterwards, which is why the time is probably not correct. But it is also secondary with the short route and a leisurely stroll)

Actually, I just wanted to go to the bike shop and buy groceries quickly. Since the route to the bike shop is rather boring, I wanted to make it a bit greener and drove through the Herzberge-Park. Then it was over with 'just quick' ... even though I am there more often, I like to discover this place again and again. From the city garden to art to sheep and cattle, there is always something to see. We continued through the Fennpfuhlpark to the bike shop. On the way back I got hungry and I was still eating delicious falafel in the Boxi-Kiez. Unfortunately I was too late for the Boxi market. So home from there.
