tweed river ramble
good circular to coldstream and back, rolling landscapes no steep bits but some steady rises, plenty of big houses and castles , etal and Norham free to enter. 3 miles of a road to leave coldstream but otherwise reasonable quiet. note there is a ford in the route between new and old etal which was fine in summer, shoes off paddle rather than cycling but could be less fun in winter so keep on road for a bit longer to get to etal vis ford castle.
