Today we completed the demanding hiking route of the Bad Freienwalder Turmwanderweg. We started our hike with the northernmost ski jump in Germany. The 38 m tower is the highest tower on this tour. In addition to the good view, you can watch the ski jumpers training. Then it went through the forest and over various exhausting natural stairs to the Galgenberg. The 26m high observation tower has been standing here since 1879, the platform of which can be reached via a narrow wooden spiral staircase.
Once at the top you can see the whole of Bad Freienwalde. Now it went down into the city again. The 13m high owl tower stands on the area of the "Haus der Naturpflege". The nature-oriented teaching and show garden with over 1,000 plant species is also very beautiful here.At the end of our hike, we climbed the Bismarck Tower, built in 1895, which stands between Bad Freienwalde and Falkenberg. From a height of 28m you can enjoy the view far over the hills and gorges of the Upper Barnim and Niederoderbruch.
The ship lift in Niederfinow could also be seen today. Then we went back to Bad Freienwalde through the beautiful forest and past the small Teufelssee.
Our legs ached again and again, especially because of the very very long climbs.
We were rewarded with a view of deep gorges. We also noticed beautiful, old single trees with a huge diameter and enormous height.translated by•View Original
