Stourport-on-Severn to Abberley Loop

Lovely route and also very varied. Had a bit of everything this time around. Including some wonderful and quiet woods, a nettle infested hill and the absolutely gorgeous Witley Court.

A great long walk especially if the weather is on your side.

2026 Lakes Day 6 - Glenridding to Pooley Bridge

The final day which we kept nice and simple as we essentially skirted Ullswater till we got to Pooley Bridge.

Paths in decent condition and very few (if any) technical sections.

2026 Lakes Day 5 - Loop near Glenridding

A bit of a rest day as we were finally able to unloand the backpacks a little bit and there was much less of a plan for day 5. We did a lovely loop via Place Fell and High Dodd which opened some gorgeous views over Ullswater.

The weather was…

2026 Lakes Day 4 - Grasmere to Glenridding via Helvellyn

Day 4 started in Grasmere with Glenridding as a destination.

We kept our options open and had a few ways planned. In the end though we decided to go via Helvellyn and to go down via Swirral edge as we have done Striding edge in our previous trip.

Great weather…

2026 Lakes Day 3 - From Wasdale to Grasmere via Scafell Pike

On day 3 we Ascended up Scafell Pike via the simpler route (Hollow Stones route).

There's quite a few options to get up that one but given that this was already day 3 we didn't want to do anything too challenging.

It was quite simple technically as we both expected…

2026 Lakes Draft - Day 2 - from Keswick to Wasdale

Day 2 was a hike from Keswick to Wasdale where our second overnight stay was going to be.

After quite a pleasant climb up to the Catbells we mostly followed the Cumbria way until Seathwaite.

We have then attempted to scale the scramble at Taylor Gill force but given that…

2026 Lakes - Day 1 - Blencathra via Sharp Edge

Now that was an exciting day. We got very very lucky with the weather as it was dry and the wind died down when we were going over the Sharp Edge.

Having never done Sharp Edge before the experience was something else for sure. The only real issue we had…

Ruabon to Llangollen

Back to Clwdians again. This time we did get hit with a bit of storm "Dave" but it honestly wasn't too bad for most of the trip (except on Moel y Gamelin which is windy even on calm days...)

A fun day out!

Hike from Pershore to Evesham via Overbury

It was a pleasant, if somewhat uneventful, hike. Paths are mostly good and paved (with some minor exceptions towards the end). There is, unfortunately, quite a bit of road/country lane on this route but it was not busy.

Great Comberton and Overbury are gorgeous, as you'd expect Cotswolds villages to…

Ledbury to Malvern - skipping the actual hills!

We wanted to see the other parts of the AONB for a while, and to no surprise it was very pleasant.

There wasn't any technical terrain on this route which made this a lovely walk in good weather. Worth bearing in mind that a lot of the route does go…
