Is there anything more beautiful than the forest in October when the weather is sunny? I want to, literally, soak up all this gold with my eyes. Fill my lungs with it, keep it for months and take it out piece by piece in winter. If I just could.
My pictures don't get it across, but you know what I mean.

The first 7.5km lead steeply uphill on a wide, well-signposted gravel path.
Then the route alternates up and down with sometimes strenuous descents.
I was hoping that there would be some good lake panorama spots on this route - almost not a single one. Everything is covered by a mighty, majestic spruce forest.
The highlights of the route were the small waterfalls, which splashed happily and loudly, audible from afar.
Many mountain streams cross the path. I can imagine that, depending on the season, they have sometimes more, sometimes less water. Today they were all easily passable (in hiking boots).
If you don't want to walk 20km, you can turn halfway to Urfeld and take the 9608 bus to Kochel train station.

We recommend! Great, varied route. Manageable even for the inexperienced. Could also be abbreviated in many places.
Unfortunately, Komoot was not at its height today. Has shown me ways several times where there really couldn't be any. Once I stood in the thick forest in front of a steep slope.
But to be fair, I have to say that I can rely on komoot 98% of the time.

It has become a very pleasant tour, especially the first two thirds. The last 5km were almost exclusively on asphalt or gravel roads.
But the paths through the forest! With lots of cozy places, great views, quaint, eerie corners and abandoned industrial plants.
Sometimes you have to be very careful to stay on the right path.

Finally out again, finally nice weather again!
A leisurely round over the Altmühl. On, sometimes, really rustic paths through the pretty natural forest. And alternately on the sun-bathed meager grass slopes above Dollnstein.
Highly recommended on a Monday morning.

Instead of walking to Ehrwald for two days as planned, I decided to go to Mittenwald after spending the night.
Weather forecast has gotten even worse and my 7 things are easy, but more for a summer tour. It's a shame, when I'm fitter again, I'll take a few more things and come back to this area.

A beautiful day in June where the days are the longest.
I love this time of year!
Despite the relatively poor weather forecast, I have planned a 3-day tour from Scharnitz to Ehrwald. When packing, I tried, as always, to reduce my load to the bare minimum and this time I managed to march off without a lot of things, without which I would never have dared to go into the mountains before. I don't know if it's good or bad. Each of us, no matter how many years of hiking experience, tries to do better every time differently. Everyone seeks their way to master the way. And everyone has their own experiences.
For me, hiking is not just a movement from A to B outdoors.
First there is a spark, an idea, what would I like to experience, where, what do I want to do this time and how. Then comes the planning. Planning is half the journey for me. Planning does not mean creating a route with Komoot, planning means
