A simple ride to an outstanding Museum. Free entry too (£5 to park your car : ha-ha!) and loads of secure bike tethering points. Very good cafe for snacks or full cooked meals. Angelsey Eggs recommended.

Easy it might be but this is a great ride around one of the best reclaimed dockland areas in the UK. There is so much to see (and do) in the 6 miles or so you need plenty of time to explore. The photos only show a fraction of what there is. Highly recommended.

A curcuit of Kielder Water. Start at Kielder Castle. Wildflowers, bird and insect life are outstanding. Plenty of stopping off opportunties, good paths and well signed. Not a flat simple round the lake ride though. If you don't like connifers, this isn't for you! Pick a bright sunny day as in the wet/overcast this sort of area can be a bit bleak. My planning after Falstone was wrong and I took a Forestry road which was impossibly rough. Stick to the Lakeside Path.

Sorry folks but after the app crashed 14 times and then didn't record the whole tour (despite giving me voice&map navigation the whole way, this is no longer reliable enough nor a pleasure to use any more. It didn't used to be like this. I am going to look for an alternative.

I'm beginning to doubt Komoot's ability to know the difference between a cyclable route and a footpath. Despite selecting 'Cycle Tour' it took me on a footpath after leaving the Nantes-Brest Canal, and then a very very rough and overgrown track up to the Viewpoint, Calotte St Joseph. I suggest you find a different way to the viewpoint: Go to Trinite and then look for the signed rough wide track leading up to the hill. Abandon your bike at the 'Curcuit' sign (see photo) and walk to the top - it is well worth it with fantastic 360 degree view of the countryside: makes you appreciate how wooded this part of Brittany is.

An easy road tour taking in some great countryside and views around Brampton and the Roman Wall. My pictures have been mangled up by Komoot and appear all over the show!
