Shortened this stage to explore the beautiful city of Durham a very easy and straightforwardorward route. Very flat and mainly tarmac. It was worth stopping and walking around Durham.

Set off to walk the ridge up to Long Side. However, we found the route very tough going. Harder than we thought so we stopped and turned back at Ullock Pike. The downhill was just as bad on the knees hahaha. I didnt expect the little bit of scrambling at the top nor did i expect the guys on mountain

A very straight forward route. Hard packed surfaces and paths through wide open fields. Good signage to follow the route and most of the route is close to the river. The route after Croxdale hall as it drops down through the woods to Shincliffe hall is very clarty (muddy) in wet weather.

This was a semi rural route rather than the previous more rural routes and you could see the difference. Paths were well worn, easy to follow and mainly hard packed surfaces. Although there was a very short part that was over rocks down by the river just after Low Barns nature reserve. The fields were

A good start to the route on a nice sunny day. Good paths from the train station and a nice steady climb through the woods which was very nice. We had a scare with some cows coming down through the farms. The route diwn was all in gravel tracks. We tried to follow the route but one field had a lot of

Great little walk around Reeth. Started with a bacon sarnie and the Copper Kettle and finished with a pint of Wainwright's in the Buck Inn. A little sharp climb round thr back of Reeth but other than that its all good visible paths.
