Start the new year with a lap of exercise with the MTB through the Markgräflerland with a cozy 1 ° C🥶 and a strong north wind💨.

Moving trip to the first calorie balance after the very enjoyable Advent and Christmas season with lots of homemade Christmas cookies this year (for the first time the cookies could be nibbled before Christmas Eve🤗😋).
After the initial sleet shower, a halfway rain-free time window with lots of sunny sections was caught, but the wind was blowing strongly from the south, so that the 4 ° C felt a bit colder at times. But still: it was nice!

Tour with the MTB at the beginning of 7 ° C and almost no wind on paved roads and bike paths throughout. Start in Müllheim, flat along the B3 to Heitersheim, there in the direction of Ballrechte-Dottingen and before the village rolled left into the vineyards in the direction of Staufen. Continue via Ehrenstetten to Bollschweil-Sölden up and via Au-Wittnau down to Freiburg. Via FR St.-Georgen flatly further via Tiengen, Mengen, Hausen, Grißheim and Zienken back again. The way there with waves, the way back mostly flat: So everything is included.

Cycle through the Markgräflerland with the MTB at a pleasant 7 ° C and hardly any wind on mostly asphalted paths. First flat from Müllheim to Heitersheim, then hilly with steady ups and downs through the vineyards to Sulzburg, then further south through the vineyards to Laufen, St. Ilgen, Zunzingen and back to Müllheim. Through Müllheim on to Zizingen, Feldberg, Schallsingen and down the country road to Kandern. Continue via Riedlingen, Liel, Schliengen and back flat on the B3. Towards the end of the tour, the sun came out again shortly before it went down and bathed everything in bright colors - a nice end to the tour.

Today we took advantage of the time window with a few hours without rain and even bright sunshine in the greater Müllheim area. Since there was a relatively strong southerly wind, first rolled over the hills to the south of Mülheim via Vögisheim-Feldberg and Schallsingen up to the country road towards Kandern. After Kandern flat continue on the bike paths via Wittlingen and Rümmingen to Binzen and there north via Welmlingen, up to Blansingen and on the high-altitude paths to Hertingen, up the Aussiedlerhöfe and then down to Schliengen and back home on the B3.
The changing ups and downs worked today to keep getting warm and not cooling down. This tour is of course a much nicer scenic experience in summer when the sun is shining.

At 3 ° C set off with the MTB and rode flat over Grißheim, Hartheim, Rimsingen to Merdingen. There then up into the vines towards Tuniberg Höhenweg and back down to Opfingen, then flat on over Tiengen, Mengen, Kirchhofen to Staufen and with alternating up and down over Ballrechte, Sulzburg, Betberg and Buggingen back again. Due to the constant rain at night, only driven on paved roads.

Exercise tour at + 1 ° C and uncomfortable south wind🥶. Rolled flat on the B3 to Heitersheim in a less spectacular way, then in Heitersheim over the Honiggasse up into the vines to shortly before Sulzburg, on through the vines to Laufen, St. Ilgen, Dattingen, Müllheim, Vögisheim, Gennenbach, Liel and up again at Schliengen in the vines to Auggen and flat back to Müllheim. Towards the end it was a bit borderline with the temperatures and the wind😊, so I didn't take any photos.

Today I actually planned to ride my MTB from Müllheim over the Castellberg in the forest high over the Enggründlekopf and from there down to the Kälbelescheuer, Sirnitz and in the forest to Badenweiler. It worked wonderfully in the first piece, but unfortunately the road to the Kälbelescheuer was closed due to tree felling and nothing could be done. Then at short notice I went down to Münstertal via Münsterhalden and back via Staufen, Ballrechte, Sulzburg and Laufen. Well - it was nice anyway😀.

Today I did the long planned tour to the Hochblauen from Badenweiler. Where available I have chosen the narrow paths (black paths at Komoot), both on the way there and on the way back. Most of the paths are easy to walk, but good footwear with a high shaft is recommended. Overall, a nice balanced tour on beautiful hiking trails mainly in the forest, with occasional panoramic views (especially on the Hochblauen itself)

Avoided the shady forest today and preferred a tour with as many sunny sections as possible, as it was still a gentle 2 ° C at the start and it was not much warmer. All easy to ride paths with moderate climbs, in the second part rolled flat along the Rhine towards home.
