About Rainer Giese

Wavy and sunny 8-person tour (see route) through the southern Markgräflerland from Müllheim via Schliengen to Steinen and Lörrach - intersection in Kandern. Riding a mountain bike on mostly asphalt (didn't feel like puddles on the bike today because it was still damp and muddy in the forest due to the rainy days).

Starting at the Wolfsschlucht car park in Kandern, you soon follow a narrow path through the forest to the first junction into the Wolfsschlucht. On more or less wide paths and narrow rooty paths, the tour runs up and down through the Wolfsschlucht, past rock formations and caves, over steps and through…

>>According to the legend, a devil was up to mischief in the Cholergraben and took poor souls away until he was put to flight by a priest from the Olten monastery for good. The name Tüfelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge) has remained.>>

Keywords and brief description of this Markgräflerisch-Alsatian German-French bike tour through the autumnal terrain:

Entry into this MTB tour via Müllheim, Vögisheim and then up to Stalten near Feldberg. From there in the forest in the direction of Bürgeln Castle or through the Bürgel Forest up to the Kalte Küche refuge near the Ameisenbuck (812m). From there continue in the forest in the direction of Hexenplatz, around…

Small climbing round with the mountain bike on mostly paved paths. Started in Müllheim at 11°C and via Badenweiler-Schweighof up on the Kreuzweg 800 m later arrived sweaty at 5°C with good inner warmth. The onion strategy worked, I still had the wind jacket in my backpack for the quick descent via the…
