Sleaford Group led by Ian O, 16 walkers. We walked along the Torpel Way which goes to Peterborough paralleling the R Welland. Lunch was in Barnack Church then we crossed the Hills and Holes to Ermine Street and back through Burghley Park to Stamford. A great walk and it started to rain just as we changed our boots in the car park!

A VERY windy walk! 💨💨 15 hardy (or foolish) souls braved the wind on my walk. The ground had dried out amazingly from last weeks’s recce so very little mud. The wind was so gusty that it almost blew us off our feet! Ignore the distance and speed as I forgot to switch off before driving to Claypole. Lunch at the Side Cafe. Fabulous . Well worth a visit. 👍👌💯🍴☕️

Led by Chris, 21 walkers. Sunny and dry but cold E wind especially on the airfield. Saw the remnants of the rails for FIDO, the fog dispersant system used during WW2.

A lovely day blessed with sunshine. 15 walkers led by me. A tad muddy in places but everyone enjoyed the walk.

Started off foggy but finished in glorious sunshine ☀️ Very wet underfoot going down the hill from the Church. Walked along Bottesford Road from Allington as going across ploughed fields parallel to this would be a no no. 👎👎😳 The Viking Way is now traffic-free from the crossroads to the A52 and from Mill Farm to Stenwith. A great improvement as there are no ‘ponds’! Going uphill back to Barrowby was a slog, two steps forward and one back in the mud!👎 The section back to the church was impassable due to the horses having churned up the waterlogged field!👎👎😳 We won’t be going that way on our return!
