85% probability of rain was predicted for today. After a hearty breakfast, packed your rain gear and saddled your bike. Maybe we'll get to Oberstdorf dry. Once there, the weather cleared up. Let's go to the ski jumping hill and on to Birgsau. After all, we've been there on cross-country skis many times. Since the gradients were still bearable here, we drove on to the Alpe Eschbach to strengthen ourselves there. After all, an organic bike also needs energy and it should be as tasty as possible. A delicious lard bread then provided the necessary energy supply. And now back again ?! Let's just go a little further. The now following route was more than crisp - it doesn't matter - now we go on. Only a few hikers and even fewer cyclists were out here. After a lot of sweat, Germany's southernmost town was reached at an altitude of 1160 m. Einödsbach is the name of the place and the name is right. Three houses, a closed pub and a small church, that's it. Even the only existing road ends here. By chance I also have the 3,000 here. Fiets kilometers driven this year. So the usual photos of evidence were taken and the trip back was started. Even the sun came through and we reached Oberstdorf without having to pedal. The weather forecasts for the next few days are just as bad as for the last few days, but we've done pretty well with them so far.

With 26.8 km and an altitude difference of 300 meters, it's actually not a special tour. But if the 300 m are essentially concentrated on 2 kilometers of the route, then it will be crisp - especially for us Tyroleans. The goal today was the Walserschanze, the gateway to the Austrian Kleinwalsertal, so to speak. Before the EU internal market, the Kleinwalsertal was a German customs connection area, as it cannot be reached from Austria. Today, the Walserschanze is often the start or finish of a hike through the Breitachklamm. Unfortunately, the inn there has been closed for a long time. An ideas competition for a new use is currently running. After a few photos as evidence, we drove briskly back towards Oberstdorf to reach the source of the Iller north of the village. Here the rivers Breitach, Stillach and Trettach meet to flow together as Iller after about 140 km near Ulm in the Danube. In the small town of Rubi there was a delicious ice cream in the shadow of the Rubihorn as a reward for the effort. A little anecdote: After conquering an extreme incline by pushing my fiets, I took a short break on a bench. A little later, an e-biker came snorting and pushing and I knew that my cunt pushes much more easily without pedaling!

That looks like a very nice tour. Is it full of tourists there? Have fun!

........ diridiridadeldu - dadeldö, that is the second future tense at sunrise! The sketch "The Yodeling Diploma" by the unforgettable Loriot came to mind when I saw the Alps for the first time today from a bicycle saddle perspective. Since we are not here to learn how to yodel but to fiet, there was a first taster tour via Oberstdorf and Sonthofen. I have been very familiar with the area for over 30 years, in the first few years on foot and with military equipment in the army, later on cross-country skis on numerous winter holidays. So it was high time to see the whole thing from my feet. Unfortunately, this premiere fell into the water in the truest sense of the word. From Oberstdorf we had constant weather - only rain, but at least it was warm.
