Brücken, Bahntrassen und Industriekultur – eine überraschend grüne Radtour durchs Ruhrgebiet.
Diese Tour ab Westerholt ist der beste Beweis dafür, wie spannend und abwechslungsreich das Ruhrgebiet mit dem Fahrrad sein kann. Auf ehemaligen Bahntrassen rollt man entspannt durch Herne, Gelsenkirchen und Essen, ständig begleitet von Brücken, Wasserwegen und Zeugnissen der Industriegeschichte. Mal führt der Weg über hohe Querungen, mal unter imposanten Bauwerken hindurch. Mit Emscher, Rhein-Herne-Kanal, Schloss Berge, Veltins-Arena, Glückauf-Kampfbahn und Zeche Zollverein reiht sich ein Höhepunkt an den nächsten. Besonders beeindruckend: Das Ruhrgebiet zeigt sich von einer überraschend grünen, sehr sauberen Seite. Zur Info: Leider hat Komoot die ersten 7 km nicht aufgezeichnet so das die Tour erst ab der Zentraldeponie Emscher Bruch nach geradelt werden kann.
