A short circuit from the village's small free car park. Outward along a country lane, returning along a narrow woodland track. Fine views over the estuary.

A there and back route from Kirkcudbright harbour to a historic road bridge. Free car parking by the harbour and full facilities. A clear path in good condition. Muddy edges to river are best avoided. A great route for wildlife (waders, wildflower, red kites and insects).

Starting at a small free car park in the village, this follows a quiet country lane and tracks to a magnificent viewpoint over the estuary. The small detour leads to a Marsh!

Off the beaten track with no facilities, great for quiet 'me' time. The tracks are quite rough and there can be fallen trees after strong winds.

Starting at a free car park, this route is on good, clear paths with some road walking to return to Castle Douglas (a short section of quiet country lane does not have a footpath). The route is surrounded by arable farmland but there are no livestock on the route. Great for wildlife on the Loch. An old church and mausoleum are to be found on the return.

Who doesn't enjoy a nice freh sea breeze in the summer? A circular route between two local train stations. The roads are quiet and good for those dark winter evenings.

Big skies over Leasowe Bay with Wales and Sefton dancing in the haze, this coast hugging route is all hard surfaced (unless you want to play on the beach). Cyclists share the route but there is plenty of room for everyone. There are good public transport links at both ends.
