The trail starts in Brilon, through beech forests, followed by a steady up and down, offering magnificent views from the hills. The highlight is the Bruchhauser Steine, and the final stretch no longer follows the Rothaarsteig. The route is very close to nature and mostly runs on unpaved paths.
