2 hours. A great little loop walk, good for dogs - strictly on leads. Starts from the pub car park, have a drink and they'll likely be happy for you to park there for your walk. They serve excellent food and it's a welcoming place. They even welcome well behaved dogs in the restaurant. (Dog walkers - Carry poop home, don't leave it bagged for someone else or worse, hanging in a tree! Those who always pick up won't be offended by my statement, the offenders know who they are, and they need to get a grip).

A trek and a wild camp, a favourite activity. This hike takes the route of the Witton Weavers Way and scores for a Best Pub Stop Trailmix Award - The Clog and Billycock at Pleasington. This welcoming respite is a Freehouse with a good range of beers and excellent food in a great location just off the trail, below the Alfred Wainwright Memorial. The views from the top are well worth the visit to the memorial. Our overnight pitch on Billinge Hill was level and hidden from any of the several nearby tracks that criss-cross the summit. A dry night and a great sleep ensured we were fully recharged for closing the loop of this hike, back south to our Start/finish point at Abbey Village.

Fabulous day for this walk. Some wonderfully straight, tall pine trees on the north side of Entwistle Reservoir provided shade for lunch, followed by a snooze in a hammock.

Strenuous in places, especially carrying our backpacks... Inc., food and water, and all for an overnight, 12kg pack weight.
