Vom Parkplatz, beim Albert-Schweizer Kinderdorf, geht es durchs Kinderdorf, am Bewegungsgarten vorbei durch Wiesen und Felder in den Wald hinein. Hier auf dem Waldweg dem HW8 entlang, nach einer Weile zweigt der HW8 rechts auf einem Fußpfad in Richtung Eschelbach ab. Wir gehen weiter auf dem Waldweg entlang bis wir an die Stelle kommen wo der ehemalige Handelsweg unseren Waldweg kreuzt. Hier biegen wir links ab und gehen auf dem mit Steinen gepflasterten Handelsweg nach oben. Nach etwa 300m haben wir die Steigung geschafft. Nun laufen wir links in Richtung Waldenburg zurück zum Startpunkt.
