We were awake at 4.45am so that we could pack up before anyone was in the park. We managed to get everything packed away and rolled down to the nearest 24hr petrol station before the rain started to fall once again. This time it would be the fifth member of the group for the whole day. We enjoyed a petrol
We were awake and packed up early thanks to natures alarm clock. We had breakfast in the shelter in the pub garden which had the added bonus of the patio heater working so we could all warm up in the early morning chill. Between us we enjoyed a fine selection of breakfast food including sandwiches, tuna
Since the King Alfred's Way route was created last year I've had it on my to do list, so with restrictions allowing a plan was formed over WhatsApp. We all met on Friday lunchtime in Winchester at the King Alfred statue. Jason and Jon rode to the start but Jon got a slit in the sidewall of his back tyre
Lazy start to the morning having breakfast and packing everything away followed by a ride to the pub with everyone. Left everyone enjoying a pub lunch while I planned my route home. Discovered some new roads on the way home. Ended the ride in the way that every good ride finishes, with a pint.
Fitting in my rides around a weekend away for Paul’s birthday. Full kit test ready for riding King Alfreds Way in a few weeks time. Nice ride to Ledbury followed by a 10 mile walk around the town and to Eastnor castle. Plenty of calories consumed around the campfire in the evening.
