From Holzgau, behind the church, a barren, asphalted path leads up to the suspension bridge (variant of the Lechweg). The actual Lechweg runs below the bridge to the waterfall. We created our own variant and went up a rustic, steep forest path to the right to the bridge, having to walk it in both directions

The Lech disappears into a canyon, so it is not visible for a while. But then, a beautiful view of the river. The path is mostly gravel, but also leads over packed earth and root paths. It can become slippery in wet weather. Good thing the big climb towards the end runs in the shady woods.

Quite an easy path. We took the first bus at 7:30 in the morning in Naxos (€3.50 per person per trip, ticket bought the day before!!!) and were able to start the hike at 8:20.
