Most beautiful 360° views over the whole area feom the summit, which is the launch site for the Paragliding School. Views to Split Rock Dam to the one side and Lake Keepit, the Mt. Kalutar Range to the other side. Especially beautiful at sunset:)

Spectacular and easy acessible coastal walk with stunning 360° views. Another possibility to watch humpback whales on their north- or southbound migration along NSW coastline is from the Sugerloaf Point Lighthouse and/or Treachery Headland.

Lovely walk along the coastline with opportunity to swim at Elizabeth Beach or Shelly Beach, so don't forget your budgie smugglers;) Important: Don't do the same mistake as us to try attempting the loop walk (second half goes along the lake). The lake bit was full of mosquitos and goes parallel to the road, so we turned around and crossed the ridge to get back onto the old track again.

A magical, easy, 1h walk to the bottom of a Canyon and back over the cliff with aboriginal art. 33 native mammal species (incl. 16 bat species), 144 bird, 27 reptile and more than 10 amphibian species have been spotted in this park. We saw bush wallabies close from the several benches and viewpoints - a fantastic little stroll off the beaten track, incl. a free and close to nature overnight experience! The nearby campground is the starting point. Very neat and tidy with a clean toilet and handwashing bassin.

A nice well-maintained boardwalk, even suitable for wheelchairs! Connects to other hikes, going up to the Whangarei Falls, the Kauri Forest Reserve and the Lookout, so plenty of options from here incl. a free carpark near the towncenter. After the walk, you can consider to use the Aquatic Center right next to the starting point - they have slides, artifical waves, a therapeutic pool and a baby/toddler area, plus a sauna. What I enjoyed most in the Aquatic Center was their hotpools/spa areas - I could have stayed in there forever on that rainy day;) Entrance fee (2025) Aquatic Center: 8.50$ adults full price, 6.50$ reduced (senior citizens, students), kids ??, kids under 1y free. I suggest, you park your Caravan here for the day and have all options and no parking fees.
