A baby-carrying hike up to Gowbarrow. The ascent path is much more rugged and rocky than the descent so for an easier walk you could do an 'out and back' along the descent path. Pay and display parking in the National Trust car park as well as toilets and a baby-change. The cafe was closed due to staffing

A baby-carrying hike up to Grisedale Tarn. The first km is paved road and then gravel which my toddler was able to walk. The rest of the route is rugged and rocky but no scrambling required. Pay and display parking at Patterdale Cricket Club. Toilets and pubs are a short walk down the road into Patterdale.

An off-road pushchair or baby-carrying walk from Grasmere to White Moss car park. The route follows country roads, the lakeshore and woodland paths. There are a few tricky sections by the lake that I managed by myself but would be much easier with two people. We started our route from Allan Bank but

A toddler stroll with lots of wildlife/sculptures to explore. Buggy friendly. There is a cafe/playground/toilets and baby-change at the visitor centre. Parking is free but entry is £6 per adult. Under 5s are free. A good option for Autumn and winter as not too muddy.

An off-road pushchair or baby-carrying walk around the grounds of Preston Park. If you have a double pushchair, or it is very muddy, you may wish to shorten the route slightly by turning left away from the river and following the tarmac path back up to the museum.
Toilets, baby-change and cafe are all in the car park.

A baby-carrying hike through the woods with lovely views across the Pennines. Some sections are steep and slippery after rain so walking boots are essential and you may find poles helpful. Toilets, baby-change and cafe are all by the car park. There are also buggy-friendly walks there and a gruffalo walk for older toddlers.

A baby-carrying, or single off-road pushchair, very muddy loop of the nature reserve. I would recommend wellies or walking the route in the summer months. Free parking. No facilities.
