Witsand hike, Robberg Nature Reserve – Garden Route, South Africa
Witsand hike in Robberg Nature Reserve - a short, scenic and still varied coastal route with constantly changing terrain: sandy sections, rocky paths, and some uneven stretches that require attention. The landscape shifts along the way, with open ocean views, rugged cliffs, and quieter beach areas like Witsand. You also pass viewpoints over the seal colony, which is interesting to observe from above. Overall, a well-rounded trail if you’re looking for a mix of scenery and terrain in a relatively compact route. Do wear appropriate footwear for hiking!

I forgot to track the first kilometer, but I remembered to do so just before it got interesting. Ignore the pace - it can be done significantly faster.

Scenic, easy downhill hike from Zugerberg to Zug Railway Station
I prefer this path for hiking down, as I’d rather not turn my back on those views. Tip: If you’d like to stop for lunch at Blasenberg on a sunny weekend day, I suggest making a reservation to secure an outdoor table.

A quick glimpse of Lake Zug and the Old Town
A short loop walk from Zug railway station for those who have very limited time but would still like to catch a glimpse of the town’s charm: the lakeside promenade, Landsgemeindeplatz, and the Old Town.
