Got off-route as trails not well marked.. as a consequence, had to cut short our hike because the gates at the parking lot get locked promptly at sunset. We did find an alternative trailhead to try next time to avoid the lock up issue.

Started from Parking off Veterans Hwy to take in some trails offering more cardio impact. Most trails dry with a few passable muddy spots after recent rains. Dog walkers out today but no other hikers. Pleasant hilly park if you don't mind traffic noise from nearby interstate.

The distance is off by a mile+ or more for some inexplicable reason. I found this trail uniformly unspectacular and tedious due to loose rocky surface almost the whole way. However, the CCC commemorative area was very well done.
