Part of the route led through the Tahui Xishan National Forest Park, which again required a fee. Then off-road through the forest and tea plantations downhill to Taihi Lake and back along the lake. Enjoyed the sunset on the lake shore.

A great park with beautiful views of Lake Taihu. You have to pay an entrance fee, however, including a boat trip to one of the nearby islands. The best time is probably early May, because of the cherry blossoms. There are around 30,000 cherry trees planted there.
