Mit 61 Jahren in den Vorruhestand,
dann mit 63 in Rente.
Jetzt entdeckte ich nach 40 Jahren Schichtarbeit die Welt und meine Heimat zu Fuß oder mit dem E-Bike neu.
This morning we drove to Lampertheim, then along the railway line to Mannheim, just before the state border on the right under the railway line through to the allotment garden club.
Then always along Hollandgraben, to Tuchbleiche on the B44. On the bike path across the state and city limits we are in Baden-Württemberg in the direction of Mannheim-Kirchgartshausen.
Via the B 44 to the Rheindamm.
On the Rhine Cycle Path to Lampertheim, past the Old Rhine through the industrial area over the bridge, always along the dam to Lampertheim-Rosengarten.
Over the Rhine bridge B 47 to Worms, Rhineland Palatinate. At the end of the bridge, turn right to the Rhine and the old Worms restaurant Kolb. After lunch back on the bike path along the B47 to shortly before Bürstadt. About the former
B 47 on the cycle path to Bürstadt-Boxheimer Hof.
Past Aussiedler Höfe on the Boxheimer Hof in the forest, past the Bürstädter waterworks on forest paths to Lampertheim-Neuschloß at the end of the tour.

Everything blooms and flourishes in the forest and in the fields in beautiful sunshine.
The passage from Lorsch was impressive.
Crowds from the wheelhouse to the monastery.
Passed it quickly with goosebumps.
Over the railway line in the direction of Schwanheim through the forest over the old Roman bridge to the fields.
The corn grew really big,
the grain harvested the hay wheels ready for removal.
From Schwanheim to Fehlheim.
Then in the direction of Bensheim past the airfield.
An approaching thunderstorm in the southwest let us increase the speed.
Back to Lorsch over the motorway bridge through the forest to Neuschloß.
The thunderstorm stayed in the west and we drove home dry😀🍀

The hike began at the Hirschkopf car park.
We are on the trail
No. 2 ran.
With a pleasant 22 C and sunshine, we mostly walked under the trees with a lot of shade. Brief glimpses of Weinheim, the Rhine plain, and the Weinheim quarry followed.
At the Rothhütte we followed hiking trail no. 1 to the left to the Hirschkopfturm at 349 m.
Built in 1870.
After a steeper short climb, we stood in front of the tower.
To the right of the tower is a table and two benches.
The climb up the small stairs to the tower exit was a bit narrow.
Arrived at the tower
we saw the Taunus in the north, the northern Black Forest in the south and the Palatinate Wine Road to Wissembourg / F through a very good view of the distance.
In the east the whole Weschnitz valley lay in front of us as far as Lindenfels. A view that you don't experience every day. We went back to the Rothhütte on path no. 2 past a small enclosed spring to the parking lot.
A wonderful day of hiking was over.

Beans, runner beans, green asparagus, asparagus, potatoes, chives, tomatoes and strawberries grow in the fields.
This diversity in southern Hesse is remarkable.
Some of the farms sell their products themselves or through local supermarkets.
H. Steinmetz's business has a farmer's shop with a butcher, lunch, coffee and cake.
He sells his own produce from the field in the farmer's shop in
Lampertheim, Römerstrasse 52.
I can happily call this farm shop
of the week for a break by bike.
Of course, the other farmers in Römerstrasse and Biedensandstrasse offer their products for sale in the farm shops.

06/03/2021. Set off spontaneously,
over the fields that are abundantly filled with asparagus, chives, strawberries.
Past the chapel in the Boxheimer Hof. To Bürstadt and via Riedrode, to Lorsch ..
In Lorsch I spontaneously took part in a Catholic service in the park in front of the church.
We continued past the town hall and the king's hall.
At which there was a decorated Corpus Christi altar.
Then I drove to the quiet Museum Celtic Village
The tours are unfortunately not possible at the moment.
Continue to Weschnitz and then to one of the last tobacco sheds.
Tobacco cultivation used to be widespread in the Ried.
The tobacco leaves were hung in it and dried.
Via Heppenheim I drove on to Laudenbach to the Aussiedlerhöfe.
Then on to Hüttenfeld to the strawberry and asparagus shop.
We went home comfortably through the forest with strawberries.

With 2 children we went to the mountain station with the new Söllereckbahn.
From there it went to the playground next to the train. Then the hike began along a driveway to the middle station of the summer toboggan run. Which the children tried out right away.
Then it went to the valley station.

We started the hike in Heppenheim at the cemetery. Most of the time it was a wide path through the vineyards. He suddenly changed to Lautenbach. it went over a bridge, the path was sometimes very narrow and hilly at the end of a staircase we were in Lautenbach. A few doors down again into the vineyard.
We ran into a vaccinated paternity group from the healthcare sector that was selling liquor. My wife gratefully sacrificed herself to drink this. It went to Hemsbacher area where we met a winemaker with his wine. We were able to learn something about the wine and Hemsbach. We bought a bottle of wine.
Finally, I have to mention the very beautiful view over the Rhine plain to the shutdown nuclear power plant in Biblis, the skyscrapers in Lampertheim to the largest hygiene factory in Europe in Mannheim Sandhofen (whose Zewa Wisch und Weg kitchen towels and toilet paper are sold all over Europe. They were on the horizon Palatinate mountains and the Donnersberg can be seen in Rhineland Palatinate.
