The last stage was a short one as we took the train home around mid-day. Riding into Hamburg marked the last Hanse city of the trip, completing this Hanseatic Breakaway.

Stage 12 started with the ferry from Rødby to Puttgarden. After this it was a long and hot day with rolling terrain towards Wakendorf. We spent the night at the last campsite of the trip in Wakendorf II, which has a lot of permanent guests but served its purpose.

Stage 11 can best be described as an island-hopping day! Ferry Ida was out of service, but a replacement ferry for cyclists and pedestrians was running between Bogø and Stubbekøbing. We spent the night at a campsite in Maribo, giving us the opportunity to finally have a shower. You could count back the days to the last campsite, but I would advice against it. Note that the cold shower in Sjaellands Odde was definitely used ;).

Stage 10 included a speed visit to Copenhagen, visiting the PNS headquarters and H.U.G. (a gluten-free bakery)! Instead of spending the night at a shelter, this time we used the shelter app to find a tenting field along the water near Praestø. This one is privately owned, but the owner allows cyclists, pedestrians and people by kayak to bivak. There are some shelters closeby (~1km) with running water.

Stage 9 was spent riding along the coast of Sjaelland, using the ferry from Rørvig to Hundested. Because of the proximity to Sweden, we spent the majority of the day being able to see across the sea towards Höganäs, which was a wonderful experience. The shelter in Hørsholm is very new and has an outhouse, but no running water. Stores can be found along the coast for any necesities,

After arriving on Sjaellands Odde by ferry, we rode to the Odden Havn to spent the night at another shelter. Using the shower at the harbour is expensive, but there is a cold one hidden behind the sauna buildings.

Stage 8 was an easy day spent in Aarhus. This stage is split up into two, because we took the Molslinjen ferry to Sjaellands Odde at the end of the day.

Stage 7 was probably the most gorgeous stage of the entire trip! It would be hard to pick favourites along the route, but if time is limited I would suggest going directly to Mols Bjerge NP. We stayed the night at another shelter in Mols Bjerge. There is a water tap ~400m from the shelter, near the parking area.

Stage 6 was a wet one, which was a little frustrating because the old train track that we followed towards Silkeborg was absolutely gorgeous (and would probably have been even more amazing with nicer weather)! We spent the night at another shelter, this time in what seems to be a pretty new park area. It is quite primitive, with no water or electricity, but there is a large served gasstation closeby in case of emergency.

Stage 5 was a little shorter, which gave us the time to explore the Lego House in Billund! We also used the opportunity to charge our devices in a café. We spent the night at a shelter in Filskov, found via shelter.dk. This one looks like a playing ground, but has running water, electricity and plenty of spaces to sleep. Local signs show that it is pretty normal to use this spot for bivak.
