About Moto
The bike touring is my another favorite. I love traveling and, instead of just visiting the places, I like to spend time like locals. With bicycles, we can go only slowly and carry a limited amount of things. That's a perfect way to enjoy the journey because we are so small and weak and need to ask help from others.

East Bay mountains are now green and I enjoyed the scenery above the clouds.

First time to ride on Sawyer Camp Trail after it is fully opened. It was wonderful. Oh, and I did a century!

Wife asked dozens of sparkling water and a gallon of milk, so I hauled a trailer. It is satisfying to demonstrate what a bike can do :-)

Montebello Road is closed for the unpaved section, but there is an official alternative route available. (https://www.openspace.org/sites/default/files/2025-Monte-Bello-Road-Closure-Map.png?itok=Ta9SVAlx) The first half of the alternative route (Old Ranch Trail) was well packed, and my Surly with 44mm tires easily handled it. I think it is ridable even with a road bike. It was actually quite a nice trail with a beautiful view. The second half (Adobe Creek Trail) was fun but rough. I was glad I had such a versatile bike. I don't think a road bike can handle it. There is an insanely steep hill at the end of the trail, where I had to push the bike. Overall, it was a very good ride to finish my 5-day streak of Montebello Road climbs.
