A special stage of the RothaarsteigThis stage is peppered with adventure highlights. You explore the mysterious ruins of Borberg's churchyard. The themed trail “Meiler, Rwall, Wüstungen” leads to cultural and historical sites. The eleven-meter-high fire oak glistens colorfully in the sun, wrapped in a bronze ribbon as a symbolic flame. A 360-degree panorama is enchanting at the gorse head. The view sweeps endlessly over mountains and valleys. Whether early morning or late afternoon, spring or autumn - the Rothaarsteig has its own charm at every time of the day and season.
From the historic Brilon market square, the official starting point of the tour, always follow the lying "R" on a red background. There are access points at Olsberg-Touristik, in the center of Elleringhausen and in Brilon-Wald. A fourth feeder leads from the center of Bruchhausen below the mighty Bruchhauser stones.
The path of the sensesThe Rothaarsteig has all the attributes for adventurous hiking: grandiose panoramas, forest furniture “made in Olsberg”, vantage points. Birds of prey circle high above the heads of hikers. Enjoy the silence, perceive the very own scent of nature, touch grass, stones and wood, observe animals - it is no coincidence that the Rothaarsteig is nicknamed the “Path of the Senses”. With a little luck you will meet the Rothaarsteig ranger, who explains nature to young and old guests. Sometimes the mouthpiece is out and about telling imaginative stories. The long-distance hiking trail is easy to hike in sections. Stage 1 over 17 kilometers from Brilon to Olsberg not only shines with its magnificent views - the Möhnequelle, Borberg, Ginsterkopf, Feu Eiche and Bruchhauser stones are also on the way. The 15 kilometer long second stage runs from Olsberg along the historic place of execution of the Kurkölner Grafengericht and NRW's highest elevation, the Langenberg, to the bizarre landscape of the Niedersfelder Hochheide near Winterberg. From Brilon you can hike “carefree” without luggage from place to place. With or without a backpack: On the Steig certified, hiker-friendly accommodations and restaurants invite you to take a break.tourismus-brilon-olsberg.de/aktiv-sein/wandern/top-wanderwege/#olsberger-kneippwegtranslated by•View Original
