The roof of the Vosges. 1424 m altitude. I'm not sure I've ever been that high. But it's a great feeling. The Grand Balon or Great Belchen is the highest mountain in the Vosges Natural Park. At the beginning of the 20th century, he was first accessible to an army. Above is a monument and a radar station. The view is fantastic from all sides. Our way led us once on the mountain and then through a winding ride through the forest to the paint The view is fantastic from all sides. Our path led us once on the mountain and then through a winding path through the forest to the Lac du Balon. Along the Route de Crètes leads a hiking trail to Auberge Haas. Unfortunately, we did not find this one and therefore walked a bit along the road. On top of the mountain, the sun is very intense, but a few degrees cooler than down in the valley. In the forest it was very pleasant. At the lake, we let our legs dangle in the warm water.

At this point I have to dizzle a little once. In Colmar, a small train drives through the city center. To record the tour I used Komoot to find the places later as a pedestrian. The photos are a mix of the guided tour and the hike. There are great shops that give me a unique insight into the Alsatian culture as a tourist. As a resident, I would rarely need tons of souvenirs and expensive craftsmanship. All in all, I could look around the city all day and watch the people.

I walked down the valley with one of my sons from the Dagsburg. The castle ruin is one of the Châteaux on the "Route 5 Châteaux". A beautiful cooling forest, wonderful scent and great views over the Rhine plain. I can not capture that in photos. At the end, there was a café in the Brasserie Husseren-Les-Châteaux.
