Spicy country climbs took a while then came the Grossglockner.

Dirty climbing in the heat. Passo della Erbe was brutal. Off main roads onto country climbs. Steep, filthy climbs. Some hike-a-bike employed just to keep moving.
Beautiful views but the sisters hid under a shroud of clouds.

The real climbing began. Stelvio was closed because of snow fall so only went as high as Umbrail and dropped back down. I climbed in the afternoon so was spared the worst of the cold winds up there.

Monaco di Baviera Lite - Day 1
Relatively flat start. 3,000m or so elevation over the course of the day but was lumpy hills and no major sustained climbs.
Good weather and beautiful views in the Bavarian countryside. I came across a large Corpus Christi mass in a village, which was interesting.
