Very pleasant hike. I would start from Tod at the Red lion there are plenty of places to park. There is a fantastic bakery at the side of the pub And if you want lunch or breakfast there is a cafe opposite the pub everything is home made and cost about £6 for lunch very generous portions. It is run

It's a good walk plenty of Woods and Moors, the tower is open and you can get right to the very top and the route I took, I reckon would be good all year round
