Today's hike led from the Externsteine via the robber's cave to the Falkenburg. The Externsteine are not only impressive but also geologically interesting, since the Osningsandstein was pressed vertically onto the rocks about 70 million years ago. The older layers of sandstone are on the Externsteiner Straße (NE) side.

Today I brought my car in for inspection. We walked back past the Externsteine and Berlebeck back to Hiddesen. The brimstone polypore in picture 11 is really that orange.
