An evening stroll from Nehren to Ediger. I highly recommend a walk through the village. Metal sculptures depicting past major football events, or simply for fun, can be found everywhere. And the numerous half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries are even more beautiful.

...and the second attempt to view the Moselle loop in the sunshine also went completely wrong.

Nevertheless, it was a strenuous and beautiful hike, completed even by our oldest club member at the proud age of 91, and rewarded with a glass of Moselle wine in the wine tavern at the summit cross.

"After eating, you should either rest or walk 1,000 steps."

We chose the latter.

So we headed to the two burial chambers, reconstructed between 1973 and 1976.

A sunny, warm day and masses of mosquitoes... Beautiful nature trails and finally 1.5km along the road on a paved path... (so walk in the opposite direction).

Finally, cake and coffee in the Dielenkaffee Kittlitz.

A great day, although not recommended when the mosquito population is as high as in May 2024.😂

The Stepenitz valley as part of a landscape protection area and formed by Ice Age meltwater. Several channel lakes are lined up next to each other.

So whether on foot or by bike, in spring or autumn... Always worth a visit.
