About Fridolin

Today we did another and final hike in Wilsons Promenade, starting from the Darby River. The weather here changes every 10 minutes 😂 from 14 degrees Celsius with sunshine to short, sharp rain showers, to incredibly strong gusts that almost knock you over 😬🙈 – it has it all! But today was at least

Having already spotted an echidna (short-beaked echidna) earlier today, we decided to make a quick stop at Wilsons Prom Wildlife Walk on our way back from the park. It's about 10 km from the park entrance, and the detour was absolutely worthwhile. We saw a group of galahs (rose cockatoos) in the first

The weather here is playing tricks. It was even stormier today than yesterday. Around 15 degrees Celsius, but it felt much colder. We're bundled up in layers 🤣 We were expecting summer weather, but oh well. Today's hike in Wilsons Promontory National Park was a real highlight! We completed the Lilly

Mount Oberon is a popular destination for a summit hike in Wilsons Promontory National Park in Australia. We did it today 😅 but not from Telegraph Saddle, where you can take a shuttle bus, but from the lower parking lot, adding 200 meters of elevation gain. This brought our total ascent to 540 meters

On our way to Wilsons Promontory National Park, we visited the Moonlit Sanctuary. It's absolutely worth it! It's home to animals native to Australia and Tasmania. Feeding the wallabies and kangaroos on the spacious Wallaby Walk is great fun. Besides these, you can see many birds, wombats, and reptiles

The weather here is very changeable. The day before yesterday it was 33 degrees Celsius, yesterday around 20, and today under 20 degrees with heavy rain 🙈🤣 Yes, we got soaked, that's just how it is in the rainforest, so it's no wonder 😝
Our roughly 13km hike today took us back to Dandenong Ranges National

After the first day and night, and having adjusted to the time difference, we went on our first hike today in Dandenong Ranges National Park. It was cloudy and drizzling lightly, as if we were constantly being misted by a fog machine. This seems to be a common occurrence in this beautiful park, given

St. Peter piled on even more fog today. We hiked through the thick soup for a good 11 km again in and around Tirschenreuth. Where yesterday we saw colorful carp, today we found the planets on the Planet Trail. Besides all its ponds and streams and its fantastic range of leisure activities, Tirschenreuth

The gray skies just won't let up. Nevertheless, we went for a short hike in Tirschenreuth today, and the many carp added a splash of color to the short but lovely walk. The 5km hike took us through the pretty little town, always along the water.

Since it's so conveniently located on the way back, we did the Prom Wildlife Walk again today. And we saw lots of animals again 🥰
