Sometimes in life, less is more but when you’re training for a race with thousands of feet of elevation gain, more really is more.

This route takes you up and down some of the best climbs on the North coast of Cornwall, boasting epic views & great trails.

This route even has scrambling if you want it

Hi! My name is Will and I'm a dad, ultra trail runner and can usually be found outside with my son strapped to my back, on my shoulders or flying along in the running buggy. I grew up in Cornwall, did a ten year stint in the big smoke and am lucky enough to be back here, raising my son in the landscape

This is one of those postcard hikes, very instagramable. The Towanroath engine house at Wheal Coates is a sight to behold, but it’s not the only sight worth seeing on this loop.

Starting at the mine, you drop down quite quickly to sea level at Chapel Porth, then climb up gradually through woodlands until

Cornwall is synonymous with tin mining, copper mining and the chimney stacks that display this long since extinct industry.

A network of trails, run all over mid Cornwall and link together at certain points, allowing for this epic 50km tour of them all.

This is one of my proudest creations, and hopefully

This is a challenging route both navigationally and in terms of fitness.

It’s not often I opt for an inland route when there is so much coast path to enjoy here, but climbing to the top of Rosewall Hill gives incredible views and is well worth the effort.

This feels like a long ten miles, so prepare

Perranporth beach is no secret, but to see it at its best you need to get there around low tide.

This loop takes you out through the dunes and back along the entire two miles of beach. It’s spectacular in any weather.

If you’re looking to take this on with an outgoing tide, start with the dunes and finish

This is up there with my all time favourite routes in Cornwall. It’s where I take people who come to visit, so I can hear audible ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ as we crest every climb (they’re steep) and turn every bend. The coast path here is rocky and almost always dry, even when the rest of it is like a mud slide
