Easy “downhill” hike in the Lower Engadine.
Arrival by public transport to Scuol station, then with the gondola up to Motta Naluns. From there you go on the Flurinaweg (bergbahnen-scuol.ch/de/sommer/flurinaweg) towards Prui and on to Ftan. The path leads through picturesque forest passages, which at this time come up with a breathtaking blaze of colors. The whole thing is rounded off by the snow-capped mountains. Truly impressive.
On the high path above the Lower Engadine, you walk slowly towards the valley station of the gondola lift.
The summer season ends on November 1st, 2020. From mid-December the Motta Naluns ski area will be open for the 20/21 ski season (and hopefully this time it will remain open for the whole season).

Start and finish is the train station in Landquart. From Sarelli you go up over Pfäfers, Malpraggsee (right side of the lake), Vättis up to the Kunkelspass. The descent to Tamins (confluence of the front and rear Rhine) is steep. The tunnels in the upper part have no lighting, but rock outcrops that open up a view of the valley. From Tamins you go back on the Rhine route 2 towards Landquart.
For any imitators, the route choice between km 45 and 48 is not drivable and only pushes and carries. In addition, many places are exposed (red-white-red hiking trail markings, secured with chains, ropes and fences. The various wooden stairs are used to improve fitness). I let myself be guided on this trail by a misinterpreted signpost.
Change to the right bank of the Rhine in Haldenstein at the latest.
