5:30 AM — the sun rises, and so do we. I eat just a little breakfast, still feeling yesterday’s effort. At 6:15, the group sets off. Today’s goal: reach the high refuge at 3150 m. We’ve learned from Day 1 and lightened our backpacks — a little.
The pace is the same: slow and steady. We stop by a beautiful

Around 8 AM, we were picked up from our place in Marrakech. First mistake: I skipped breakfast.
By 11 AM, we arrived in Imlil. After a short briefing with our guide, we met the group — six in total: two Germans, one Brit, my two (adult) kids, and me. The average age? Around 25. And me? I’m 50 😊

What a day in the mountains! This hike was pure magic. We spent about three hours on the trail, but time didn’t matter – we slowed down, breathed deeply, and let every view sink in. The weather was on our side again, painting the peaks in golden light and making the silence even more powerful. Some sections were tricky and demanded full attention – a reminder that nature deserves respect. We didn’t reach the summit of Bielerkopf this time; the last bus at 4 PM called us back. But honestly, the destination wasn’t the goal today. It was about feeling the raw beauty of the mountains, the crisp air, and the privilege of being completely alone up there. Just us, the snow, and the endless horizon. Sometimes, the best hikes aren’t about conquering a peak – they’re about letting the mountains conquer your heart.

The day began in a frosty valley, where the thermometer stubbornly clung to -5°C and the air felt crisp enough to bite. Wrapped in layers, we stepped into the gondola, and as it glided skyward, the world transformed. At 1,800 metres, winter loosened its grip—warm sunshine kissed our faces, and we peeled off our extra layers with a sense of freedom. The trail ahead wasn’t demanding, but we weren’t in a hurry. Five hours melted away as we wandered through a landscape that felt like a dream. Every turn revealed a new masterpiece: jagged peaks etched against a sapphire sky, valleys bathed in golden light. We stopped often—sometimes for a photo, sometimes just to breathe it all in. At one point, we sank into the snow for half an hour, letting the silence and sunshine wash over us. It wasn’t just a hike; it was pure bliss. A day where time slowed, worries vanished, and nature reminded us how beautiful life can be.

3:30 AM. After a real breakfast — yes, I’ve finally learned — we begin the final push: 1000 meters of ascent, with slopes between 10% and 40%. A huge challenge.
The night before, I told the group not to wait for me if I fell behind. They’d been incredibly supportive so far — they deserved to see the sunrise
