Slightly amended PR8 route in Madeira. We followed the very clear path to the cafe at the end, but also after lunch headed up to the peak behind it. It’s worth noting that it gets super windy and the route up to the peak isn’t very well maintained and you should judge your abilities carefully here. We also ticked off a peak just before heading back to the bar park. You can see the summit from the road and I’m sure a couple of people will attempt it quite often. The paths are not very easy here plus it’s super steep, but manageable. Besides the two peaks we mainly followed the PR8 and parked on the road before the official start, just under a km away. It’s a nice route with a great little break half way through at a cafe. Some parts were quite uneven on the path and with heavy wind gusts. It is a beautiful route with beautiful views and definitely recommended.
