Start und Ziel ist der Bahnhof in Troisdorf. Von dort geht es nämlich mit der Bahn und Fahrradmitnahme erst mal die Sieg ‚hinauf‘ - bis zum Bahnhof Schladern. Die S-Bahn nach Windeck-Schladern fährt alle 30 Minuten und dauert 30 Minuten. S19 Einzelticket 9 Euro plus 3,70 Euro Fahrradmitnahme. Parken in Troisdorf ist gut möglich hinter dem Bahnhofsgebäude auf dem Parkplatz P1 mit Tagesticket für 3,80Euro (Einfahrt Sieglarer Str. 21/23). In Schladern angekommen, kann man sich gegenüber im Bahnhofsgebäude erst mal in der Bäckerei "Backhaus Pieroth" ein gutes Starter-Frühstück gönnen – am besten auf der Sonnenterrasse. Danach folgt meist in direkter Nähe zur Sieg die erste Etappe mit dem Tretferrari zur Sieg-Mündung in den Rhein bei Mondorf. Eine landschaftlich sehr schöne Strecke, gut ausgebaut - mit vielen Möglichkeiten für Rast und Einkehr. Hier als Beispiel Schwenk zum Eis-Cafe Eitdorf oder kurzer ‚Terassen-Tankstop‘ in der Löwenburg bei Herchen. Als Tip die gute "Hausmannskost-Belohnung" mit isotonischem Faß-Weizen Update zum Ende der Tour hin - das "Restaurant zur Siegfähre" – mit schöner Sieg-Lage, großen Fenstern & Terrasse (Öffnungszeiten Internet!)... Die dortige Sieg-Aue an der Rhein-Mündung ist ein bekanntes Naherholungsgebiet mit Sieg-Fahrradfähre, Rheinfähre sowie Bootshafen. Von dort geht es neben/über die als Fahrradweg nutzbare Strecke der alten 'Balkantrasse' zurück zum Bahnhof Troisdorf. Abgesehen von der Wald-Umgehung des Auelsberg nach Mauel (Burg Blankenberg ist ein Abstecher) hat die Strecke den Fluss hinunter keine großen Höhenunterschiede – der e-Stromer ist nicht unbedingt nötig. Aber je nach Rast und Pause muss man zeitlich 78 Fahrradkilometer einplanen...

Die Tour beginnt am alten Bahnhof Solingen auf der ehemaligen Bahnstrecke von Solingen nach Vohwinkel, die als Korkenziehertrasse zum Radweg ausgebaut wurde. In Vohwinkel-Sonnborn startet dann das auch als Radweg ausgebaute Trassenstück der alten Sambabahn, die durch das Waldgebiet Burgholz nach Cronenberg führt. Von dort geht es abwärts zur Wupper nach Müngsten. Und über die als Radweg ausgebaute alte Bergbahntrasse "Solingen – Müngsten" radeln wir (etwa 4 % Steigung) zurück zum alten Solinger Hbf.
