This is my last weekend in Flanders, so it had to be nice—and it was! A visit to the Bokrijk Open-Air Museum: The grounds, the actors, the animals, and the overall atmosphere are fantastic, especially in this late summer evening light 🌄



For the last 40 minutes before closing, I had the village to myself

👣 Another great trip, this time to the Netherlands; I wanted to go to the open sea :) Who knows what the weather will be like next week, but today is the last really warm, sunny day, so let's go! 🚘



Despite the traffic jam on the way there, I still chose a great destination. It included almost everything

🚲 Cozy Flemish house walk!

It was beautiful, we saw lots of birds, fishermen, ponds, and above all: peace and quiet in nature🌱

By the water, you really feel a special sense of peace and security...except when the water comes from above😅🌧️

But that too has its own charm—just in a completely different way 😌

Today, another hike is on the agenda. ↔️ I haven't done anything longer than 8 km in a really long time, but today is the day, and the weather is perfect!🌤️



🥾The route wasn't supposed to go this way. Since I found another parking spot, Komoot discreetly deleted half of my route... I was so happy

A little walk after work! I visited a wonderful place called Kattevennen. This is a nature and recreation area with a strong focus on landscape, experience, science and sport. It combines nature with education and activity!

I was a bit sad this evening, because it was the last day here for my good colleague

☁️ A short vacation, but enough to relax and collect great impressions!😊



Very interesting stories on the train during the outward journey, beautiful vacation apartment, a bit of "snow sugar" and lots of nature, completely deserted at this time 🌫️

🌲We saw:

- Marburg's old town at night



☀️When the winter sun is shining, it's best to hike in open areas, with a wide view and towards the sun - that's exactly what I did! 🌄



🥾Very nice route, not long, not strenuous, but some of the paths are very overgrown and I wouldn't recommend some shortcuts😂



🎄I have a tradition on that day: When

I have never seen so many small ponds at once! A very interesting place! Lots of cormorants, geese, nutrias (on the ice), fish and anglers!

If you want to hike here too, you should definitely have waterproof shoes or wait for very dry summers (for a long time):))

Small but nice: 👑 2nd place in "Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2023", the *Shire Trail*!



📖 Anyone who knows Tolkien's stories will love this little trail!♥️ It is part of the larger route that I will hike on my next visit to the Westerwald :)



🌳 There was a highlight in the Westerwald that I
