About Mark Beers
When the weather turns fine in Montreal, I like to take my bike up Mount Royal or down the Lachine Canal or along the St. Lawrence river. I've yet to cross the new Champlain bridge, but I'll be doing that soon. I have had my Cannondale road bike since 1988, when I bought it on Stanyan St. in San Francisco. I forget how many hills (48?) there are in SF, but I think I pedalled up almost all of them before rents drove me out of town in a Penske truck with my Quebecoise "wife" (she hates that label) and all our belongings. It's a short riding season here in Montreal (I'm not a winter cyclist), so I really appreciate summer when it comes (and mourn it when it goes).
