Nice tour. The Elbe Cycle Route is definitely appreciable, particularly from Decin (CZ) onwards. Upon arrival in Rathen, a view of Bastei and the bridge. As soon as I arrived at the destination, I immediately climbed up to the "mythical" Bastei Bridge and its breathtaking spires.

Stage divided between cycle paths, road sections and dirt roads, more or less challenging. The climb to the hermitage is definitely challenging and I'm not ashamed to say that on the toughest parts I got off and pushed it. Cloudy weather but luckily it held. Tour not exactly pleasant. Up and down hills not particularly beautiful, apart from the last stretch. To be taken only as an approach stage to Prague. Luckily the weather held, only a bit of drizzle now and then. Wind always against, as per script.

Overall a bit tough. About 10 km after the start, the komoot track led onto a busy road. Apart from the effort of the climb, the route wasn't great. First 40 km quite nice, all on hills, then a bit less. Komoot nailed it with the routes, choosing busy roads, solved by opting for less-traveled alternative roads and sometimes with cycle paths. This track follows the original route. Even near the river Elbe, follow the cycle path, beautiful. Passau, a little gem.

First part, from Matrei am Brenner, along the Via Romea, panoramic but not trivial, especially right after starting. Then a nice long descent to Innsbruck. The rest is flat, slight downhill. All on a cycle path, beautiful! Kufstein definitely deserves a visit.

Komoot track not always precise (some cycle paths are missing). Particularly from Vipiteno to Brennero. I preferred to take the cycle path that climbs to the right of the road. Truly a great place. The forest to get to the Bastei Bridge is enchanting. The climb was not at all strenuous (perhaps because without bags it feels like flying). Highly recommended!!! A loop tour is impossible. You have to descend a long series of stairs. From the Bastei Bridge, return the same way
