Our last hike near Wachenheim is especially beautiful in March, because now (as probably all Palatinates know) the almond trees 🌸 are blooming.

On Sunday, we hiked the "Burgenweg" (Castle Trail) circular route near Klingenmünster. The trail begins with a rocky, steep climb to the Schlössel ruins, but then mostly follows well-maintained paths.

I chose Iggelbach as our starting point because it's about a 10 km hike from there to Johanniskreuz, and I wanted to avoid the parking chaos there.
