Pfälzer Hüttenquartett

Last Sunday, we started our hike at the Totenkopfhütte (Skull Hut). From there, we were immersed in a snowy landscape we hadn't expected.



We hiked past the Fronbaumhütte (Fronbaum Hut) through a beautiful forest to the Schänzelturm (Schänzel Tower). From there, we had a lovely view of the snow-covered

Last Sunday, we started our hike at the edge of the forest in Wachenheim.



We initially walked to the Mundhardter Hof, but it didn't open until noon. Since we were already there, we decided to continue on.



Via Straus-Platz, we returned to the Poppental valley, where we followed the babbling Schwabenbach

On Sunday, we set off on our Three Valleys Hike in Eußerthal. The easy trail initially led us past trout farms.



Then we followed the signs to hike to the Siebeldinger Hut, which had reopened on Sunday after its winter break.



The trail runs through the Dürrental valley and passes a charming shelter. After

Last Sunday, we hiked from Iggelbach to the Romantic Forest Christmas Market at the House of Sustainability (Johanniskreuz).



I chose Iggelbach as our starting point because it's about a 10 km hike from there to Johanniskreuz, and I wanted to avoid the parking chaos there.

On Sunday, I decided to hike to the Weinbiethaus. This time, I chose the path that leads past the Welschterrasse and the Deidesheim Temple. As children, we used to call this path, where we went sledding in winter, "Hoppla-Hop."

Last Sunday, we hiked from Ilbesheim through the colorful vineyards, via Ranschbach, to the Kolpinghütte Ranschbach.



There, we enjoyed a delicious homemade pumpkin soup (and a piece of cake 😊). The hut also offers a beautiful view over Ranschbach and across the Rhine plain.

This time on Sunday, we went up to the Weinbiet. From the hut, we enjoyed a great view yesterday, along with the good meal.



After that, we went downhill, past the Steinerner Hai, into the Benjental valley. From there, we went uphill again, past the Looganlage (loog facility) and through the forest, until

Simply W🤩W – I'm still in the throes of color from our hike on Sunday. We went on a forest and vineyard hike between Edenkoben and Maikammer, where the German-French Biosphere Farmers' Market was held yesterday.
