The round around the Rosskopf (1131m) is particularly worthwhile in winter when there is snow. Beautiful views over the Sylvensteinsee are offered, in some places also deep views into the Dürrachklamm. The paths are cleared forest paths, so they are easy to walk on without the risk of slipperiness. In Fall there is a large car park on Dürrachstrasse, parking tickets are mandatory.
At the beginning it goes up quite steeply with 17%, but there are only about 250 meters to master up to 1055m on the saddle. The second half is flatter - so it might be easier to walk the tour in the opposite direction. It is better not to enter the frozen Sylvensteinsee - the water level under the ice can drop due to the accumulation of water and then no longer supports the ice cover, risk of burglary.January 10, 2021
