This is a lovely, mainly flat ride, with 73% of this tour being off road, the remainder mainly rural roads, apart from a small section in Castleford. The scenery is constantly changing as you move from the industrial & historic Aire & Calder Navigation , to the River Calder, and then the River Aire
Hi Mark, check my profile and you'll find a road route around windermere starting and ending in Ambleside.. the route is mostly B roads and includes Kirkstone pass (after windermere town) but this can be avoided if you don't feel like it when you get to it.. the lane where I've started and ended the route has some free parking.
