Circular walk from Patcham Place bus stop Note that to follow the bridleway up Sweet Hill, I had to climb over a metal gate, which was padlocked. Excellent walk with varied downland and woodland scenery.

Wonderful walk on a perfect day. Done on a day trip from Sussex, via hovercraft. I was following up a suggested walk from 'Waitrose Weekend'. Having arrived at Bembridge, you can get the #8 bus back to Ryde Esplanade, or continue by the same bus route to Sandown, and travel back to Ryde on the #2 or #3.

Good walk for a cold dry Spring day, as parts of the walk that might often be boggy were easy to traverse.

Did this walk on a beautiful September day, after having read an article by Oliver Smith on a similar walk in 'Waitrose Weekend' (5/9/24): tinyl.io/BU2H . This should be pretty well identical to his walk as described, except that I took a brief diversion to see Guildford Castle on the way out. There

Walk between the 'School' bus stop in Sayers Common and the 'London Road' bus stop in Burgess Hill. Note that in planning a route you might be shown a more direct way via the Berrylands Farm estate—however, I tried that, and the path shown crossing the A23 had been closed off!

Quite strenuous (hilly and some rough flint paths), but a great walk. Note that some of the paths across fields towards the end of the walk are hard to spot!

A most beautiful Ashdown Forest walk, although in mid-October the paths wet, and slippery and boggy in places. Starts and ends at The Roebuck bus stop on Metrobus #270 route.

Great walk along the Langstone Harbour coast via the Puffing Billy Trail. Note that I left that trail towards its end to follow the coast more closely on a footpath. The very last footpath I used from Warren Close to Ferry Road was rather narrow and overgrown, and if I did the walk again I would go
