Wivelsfield Station to Haywards Heath (New House Farm bus stop)
Great short countryside walk between two bus stops (NB last section through a new housing development). Take care on the short 150 yard stretch on a busy road.

Danehill to Horsted Keynes
Beautiful, easy short walk on easily located paths that I doubt would get muddy in winter. Start and finish are Metrobus route 270 stops.

Chelwood Vachery circular from Beaconsfield Road bus stop
Excellent walking route on the edge of Ashdown Forest, and starting and finishing at the Chelwood Gate bus stops of the Metrobus 270 route. Varied woodland and heathland scenery. Well-kept, mainly wide paths (NB parts could be muddy in winter).

Bolnore circular

Balcombe loop
Short circular walk from Balcombe railway station (or the adjacent Compass route 62 bus stops. Mixture of country lanes, farm tracks, footpaths and fields - NB there are some broken stiles on route that miss their top step so best for those with long legs.

From Evelyn Clark House to Forest Row
Effectively, a circular walk between two bus stops. Note that in one place the path fords a tributary of the Medway, but there is a quick diversion onto a corner of the adjacent golf course, which has a bridge, after which you can immediately turn back onto the path.

I did this walk during a drought so it was very dry. Hard to tell whether any of it would be muddy in normal conditions.
