Tried a little challenge today: my first-ever 20 km run! (Longest I’ve run before was 13 km… back in 2018 😅) Started strong on a nice, flat route—but by km 6, my knees were protesting and my calves felt like bricks. Turned back at 7.5 km, feeling defeated... Then, like magic, energy kicked in during the last 2–3 km, and I pushed through. Not my fastest run, but I’m proud. Could I have gone the full 20? Probably—but I didn't wanted to overwork my body and get hurt. ~Getting fit is a marathon, not a sprint 😉👟

✨ We hiked to Lagoa do Caiado – and it was a little adventure in itself! We started at the parking near the so-called “Mysterious Boulder” (honestly… it looked more like a very average boulder 😅). The first and last kilometer were along a bumpy road where cars also pass. Luckily, they can’t go very fast, but I still found it a bit annoying. 🐄 Along the way we met a lot of cows – some grazing peacefully, some blocking the road like true gatekeepers. We even had to climb over a few electric fences that were placed across the trail. No signs of “private property” or “no access,” so we just kept going. 🌿 In the end, we were rewarded with wide views over green fields, herds of cows, and the shining ocean in the distance. Lagoa do Caiado itself felt calm and refreshing – the perfect spot to take a breath and just enjoy nature. Overall: a simple, relaxing hike with a few quirky surprises on the way!🥾
