A varied tour. First it went on forest roads along the Saale. Although you were in the forest, you always got beautiful views down to the river. Sometimes you were right on the river and sometimes high up. The highlight of the route is of course Burgk Castle ... and thanks to the route you can see it from all sides, sometimes close, sometimes far. Good photo points are e.g. For example on the wooden bridge below the castle, from the barrier wall and from the arched bridge, which you have reached after a good half of the route. After the bridge it goes steeply uphill, but then stays up and it goes straight to the destination - right through the middle of the castle, over open landscape, orchards, forest and small towns. Before reaching the destination of Walsburg, you walk the last three kilometers in the Wiesenta valley - a quaint valley. After the 21km you have reached the start and destination Walsburg again. There is enough parking space here. Note: On two short sections on the way there (each possibly 20-30m long) you need a head for heights and surefootedness.

Sunday, 18 degrees, sun - we have to go, because days like this are rare at the moment. We started in Falkenstein and were greeted by brass music in front of the Falkensteiner Church. From the castle rock we watched briefly and then left the city in the direction of Hammerbrücke across the forest. We often walked on the rock path that leads past many rock formations in the Vogtland forest. Between Hammerbrücke and Beerheide, winter caught up with us again for a short time. There was snow on the paths - and if not, then a lot of mud. No matter. The small forest stage on Röthelstein was interesting. From up here you have a nice view. We then went back to Falkenstein past an animal enclosure. Before we came back to the city, we visited the Glück-Auf-Hotel on the outskirts. It is isolated in the forest and has been badly affected. There was a fire in the building, for example. T. completely damaged. We met someone who told us that the hotel was only put into operation shortly before the fall of the Wall. But then came the turning point and people first wanted to go out into the world. That was the knock-out for the system. After 21.7km we reached the goal well done.

After two night shifts there was only a short tour this time, but it was nice. You can't go wrong along the Elster from the Elstertalbrücke into the Steinicht and back via Liebau. Today should be the only nice day at Easter and we wanted to use it accordingly. Beautiful 11 kilometers!

That was weather today that makes the hiker's heart beat faster. Sun all day and no wind. Then the low temperatures were easy to bear. This time it was all around the town of Weischlitz. We started in the village at the Sparkasse, which is housed in a beautiful half-timbered house. You can park here for free everywhere. Often we went along the Elster and we often followed the signs of the Vogtlandpanoramaweg. In addition to very quiet areas where you could enjoy nature to the fullest, there was also a small attraction every now and then:
Pirker Autobahn bridge, Feste Türbel or the manor house in Kürbitz. We were particularly impressed by the Lost Place, the former hotel "Seeblick" in Talitz. It is in bad shape, looted by metal thieves and "embellished" by would-be graphic artists, but still somehow interesting. We'll go there again and take a look at it.
During the tour we discovered that Komoot is so good that it also knows ways that don't even exist. From about 16.5 kilometers on, it was about 500m haphazardly through the forest, but otherwise everything was ok. The few meters along the main road were also bearable - you could run parallel to it in the meadow.
Another nice tour in the heart of the Vogtland.

Finally hiking again. Something kept coming up, today for Sunday it worked. The start was in Thossfell at the Pöhl dam. We know the Pöhl well and it was difficult to find a few new ways. With Komoot that was realized relatively quickly. So it was first towards Treuen. We were really surprised by the beautiful valley that ran along a stream to Altmannsgrün. We had to reschedule a little here. In nature there is enough water at the moment and so a brook ford (we suspected more of a bridge here) was a deep obstacle. We were almost about to wade through, but after some search we finally found a bridge. Now through Altmannsgrün and then up to Schönau. From here we walked on a paved path to Neuensalz. So close to home and yet discovered something new again. In Neuensalz we paused briefly at the chapel, because here we said the "yes-word" a loooong time ago .... and again the sun was shining here. Now there was a barrier wall of the Pöhl to pass. From here you can see the Pöhler Autobahn bridge very well ... and we were back in front of our car. Nothing like home, because a delicious roulade was waiting for us here.

Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, plenty of sun. This time it went from Posseck to the Wiedersberg castle ruins. The way always led us a bit on the Kolonnenweg along the former border. Of course, we didn't leave out the small villages either. But often not a single house was to be seen far and wide. Pure nature.

The tour was very pleasant to run, as you had the climbs behind you quickly and then for the most part you can walk on very good hiking trails. There was always variety on the way, as the pictures suggest.
