You can also start above Schüttersmühle in the direction of Kirchenbirkig at a small car park. We hiked up the valley, then back along the west side (it goes up and down) and then went back up on the east route (long forest paths) and then experienced the Klumpertal in the opposite direction.

Really great gorge, a bit of a challenge in some places, but very nice! The part between the barrage and Neckargerach leads along a busy (and fast) road, so I would suggest an alternative route (e.g. other side of the Neckar).

We actually wanted to walk the Sentier de l'Imbut, but it was closed (May 2023) (i.e. liability for accidents was excluded). Supposed to be checked again before the start of the French holiday (July 8th). So we hiked in the other direction over the Pont d'Estellié. Definitely an amazing area!
