Followed a route found here on Komoot. Dont expect much off-road stuff, you'd easily complete this a lot quicker on a gravel bike.
Best thing on this ride was coming across the grave of Rupert the Chicken , RIP Rupert !

A cheeky Sunday aftenoon bimble on the bike around Sandall Beat and Lakeside.
The 'dippers' are still there in the back end of the woods, and it took me back 30 odd years to when I first started mountain biking on a Raleigh Mustang... how things have changed!
Anybody old enough will also remember Armthorpe

Fueled by mini pork and apple pies, this was a great ride, great riding conditions and the Blue Steel trail at Lady Cannings was running incredibly well. Still not as fun as the bit of bridleway that descends down Fox Hagg though ... natural beats man-made every time for me 🤘

Without doubt this is the wettest I've ever been, short of being in the bath or swimming!
Still, it's only water, and it puts other people off going out, so you get a lot of the scenery all to yourself! It also helps to have an Alnwick lamb pasty and a massive slice of Caramel shortcrust to shovel down yourself halfway round 👍

This started off as a trip up to the 'golfball' near Brizlee Woods, (its an RAF listening post apparently) as I'd read online they sometimes let you in so you can go to the trig point ... only they didn't so that part of the ride was a bit pointless.
Turned things around by having a completely Ad lib

Doncaster is way too flat... I'm not the fastest rider but my average speed was quite a bit higher than any of the rides I've done out in the Peak District. Nice scenery, but riding wise this was purely to put in the miles and blow off a bit of steam. A bit too wet and slippy for a play on the downhill

Johns 'weather forecasting' stone was spot on! It was indeed raining, which made it extremely sloppy undefoot in some places. Otherwise, this was a very flat 9 miles or so, probably much nicer and more enjoyable when dry with sunnier skies. Today it was bleak and overcast which made the overall experience
A superb walk with incredible views for miles (weather permitting).
Take your choice of the ridiculous amount of paths that go over the golf course, and keep an eye out for seldom seen wildlife such as the small lizard I came across sunning itself 👍
