Abandoned walk to Newborough lighthouse
We set off in the sun, about 4 miles in the wind, snow and hail arrived. We turned back as we were not dressed correctly for the new arctic conditions. The storm passed about half an hour later and we discussed trying for the lighthouse again as the sun shone down. We decided to continue back to the car. As we arrived in the car park another winter storm arrived. Game over! The weather was having a personality crisis today!

If you get chance, and you don't mind scaling a 5 foot wall to get in and out, you should visit this site, the old house is fascinating, burned down in the 1940s, but you still get the atmosphere of the faded aristocracy.

This walk was truly calming, a quiet sunny day, a walk through fields and woods and reservoirs. Great for the dog, you could let him around the reservoirs. We got a teeny bit lost but made the walk better
