Another go at foraging chestnuts along almost the same route as last time in the happy place, this time armed with a bag and collecting to order! It wasn’t long before the bag was full either! Now time to roast them, dip in melted butter and roll in a cinnamon/sugar combo for a little autumnal indulgence! 🤫😉

Nice little wander round the happy place for an autumnal forage, hoping for hazelnuts but wound up with chestnuts. Think the squirrels have beaten us to it! We were stopped in our tracks by very loud rustling noises to then witness 6 does, a calf and a stag cross our path at high speed about 15 metres in front of us. True to form couldn’t get the bloody camera out in time! 🤦♂️😂

Wasn’t really feeling outdoorsy at all today, but was convinced to go for a wander. Despite my protests that it was a tad early to be foraging chestnuts and hazelnuts, we went anyway. I’d left my coat at home and yep, true to form the heavens opened up as soon as the car door did, sheltered only by the huge oak trees. 20 mins was all I could stand before I legged it back to the car. The dog was even more miserable looking than the weather and me combined! 🤦♂️😂

A pleasant looking but gnarly coastal walk from camp at Argeles into Collioure. Not too hot, plenty of shade and sea breezes. Spent a good deal of time picking out cactus spines from our hands! 🤦♂️😂

A reverse route of one we did on New Year’s Day, but much drier! Of course, there just had to be 2 ponies tethered up on the way round and of course the girls are horse/ pony mad, so peeling them away was more challenging than the walk itself! Other highlights were the abundance of ripe blackberries, elderberries, hawthorn berries and sloes to name but a few. And yeah we did help ourselves to a few blackberries! 😋😂
